She was a fishmonger who died of a fever at a young age. Her statue is located on Suffolk Street and was designed by Jeanne Rynhart. It was first unveiled on June 13, 1988 as part of Dublin’s Millennium celebrations. June 13 was declared Molly Malone Day.
