I Am drawn to woodlands and forests and always find myself captivated but the light as it finds its way through the foliage and labyrinth of branches and trunks. There is something magical about it and as the seasons change so does the nature of light. This winter scene is drawn from a regular walk through Malahide Castle grounds.

Malahide Castle is located in North County Dublin. It was home to the Talbot family for almost 800 unbroken years and it is still the ‘spiritual home’ of the nearby village.Growing up, the castle and grounds were my playground and still hold a special place in my heart. The roots are strong.
