Inspired by the Irish woodlands.When painting this forest scene, David Wagoner’s poem ‘Lost’ came to mind.
The poem speaks about feeling lost when in fact all we need to do is be still, honour our feeling but not to let it encompass us. The forest knows where we are just as good friends know when we despair.
I find light filtering through the trees very emotive. The sense that even though we are deep within a forest, the light will find find us and guide us.
Be still, listen and open your heart.
